Max Hall is a commercial photographer based in Newport Beach, California, specializing in lifestyle, outdoor, and action-sports imagery for brands and professional athletes. His style is fast, spontaneous, and authentic, built to capture real moments and genuine motion rather than stage them.

That instinct comes from experience. Max grew up ski racing and trained with the US Ski Team, traveling the world in pursuit of the sport before trading his skis for a camera. He moved to Southern California with little formal training and plenty of grit, paying his dues on production sets while living out of his van so he could shoot and surf full-time. The discipline of an elite athlete fused with the eye of a documentarian has defined his work ever since.

For the past five years, Max has served as the primary photographer for Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin. His commercial campaigns include Oakley, AG1, Atomic, Tilly’s, YY Nation, and others. In all his work, Max brings a rugged yet refined sensibility, cinematic, emotionally grounded, and deeply rooted in the cultures and environments he photographs.
