Chona Kasinger is part of a new vanguard of photographers bringing a fresh new perspective to the commercial photography world.

Born in the Philippines, Chona was raised between the bustle of Metro Manila and the suburbs of Seattle. During her freshman year of college, her photography took off when she had the chance to follow and profile local musicians and bands. It didn’t take long for national photo editors to take note of her work, leading to editorial assignments with Rolling Stone, The New York Times, GQ, ESPN, Glamour, Bloomberg Businessweek, Travel and Leisure, Bon Appetit, Fortune TIME and many more.

Commercial clients soon followed suit, awarding Chona campaigns for clients such as Verizon, Amazon, Starbucks, Kraft-Heinz, Etsy, Sierra Club, AARP, Viacom, American Kennel Club, Mazda, Converse, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Live Nation, St. Germain and Casio. Some of the awards that Chona has garnered over the years include American Photography 38, Online Winner, American Photography 37, Online Winner and 2016 PDN Ultimate Music Moment, First Place.

Chona is an advocate for diversity and equity in the photography industry and is a proud member of Women Photograph, Diversify Photo, Authority Collective and The Luupe. Chona currently lives in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood with her musician and chef partner and two Golden Retrievers, Brooklyn, and Buddy.
